Vendor Reviews
I was very lucky to have incredible vendors that made my entire wedding run seamlessly (for the most part). I definitely couldn't have done it with out them!
Hair stylist: TG Hair Care: Tammy Grace A+
She was amazing! She graciously let us arrive at 8:00 on the morning of the wedding since the wedding was at 12:30. She did my hair and one of my bridesmaids hair, both in updo's for only $45.00 each, she also let my sister do her own hair there on site, and let my mom and mother in law come and hang out while we all got our hair done, and let us bring breakfast since we were on a tight timeline. It was so great having everyone there together and it felt so amazing to have my hair done! I felt like a movie star when I left.

Day of wedding: They were truly incredible. I found them originally because they shot the photos of a friends wedding, when I saw how well hers turned out I booked them right away. Also their pricing was incredible, $1500.00 for a full day of coverage at an unlimited number of locations for no additional charge, a DVD of all the images in high resolution and low resolution and rights to all the photos so you can print them through whoever you choose, and an engagement session at the location of your choice. They included and engagement session for no additional charge and waited for us while we were an hour late due to traffic and even let us bring our dog along. He also met with us about a month before the wedding to make a list of all the photos I wanted and to look over examples of styles we liked, it was so great to know I put my wedding day into capable talented hands. The day of the wedding they were incredible, Bob met with the guys at our place at 9:30 am, and Kelly came to my parents house at 10:30 am and got pictures of all the ladies getting ready. After the ceremony, they spent close to an hour getting every combination of family pictures we could ever dream of, and then spent two hours taking pictures with the bridal party at Forest Park, going every where we asked, then on to the reception where they stayed with us until we left in the limo at 10:00 that night. I cant wait to see how all of our photos turned out, I know they will be amazing. I definitely know that we made the right choice by booking with him and would recommend him to anyone looking for a wedding photographer.
**Update**: We got our photos back exactly 5 weeks after the wedding. They turned out INCREDIBLE! We ended up with over 400 edited pictures throughout the whole day! It is SO hard figuring out which ones to pick for albums we ordered and frames. He gave us a full DVD of all the images in high resoultion for perfect prints and a dvd of low resolution images so we can easily email them to friends and family for them to enjoy! And with out even asking a DVD of all the high resolution images in black and white! I am SO SO happy we went with him. It took about a week longer than originally expected to get the final dvd of all the images back but it was definitely worth it!

Day of the wedding: They were truly incredible. This was one of the things we originally hadnt planned on doing, so when we finally decided to splurge on it, we had a pretty low budget but were still hoping for alot. When we first met with them we knew they were the perfect fit for us, all day coverage with two manned cameras and one unmanned camera for only $499.00, and they had our date available, so we booked them right away. The day of the wedding they were incredible, the two of them met with the guys at our place at 9:30 am, and then came to my parents house at 10:30 am and got video of all the ladies getting ready. After the ceremony they followed us and the photographer to Forest park for video of the bridal party for close to two hours and then at the reception they stayed with us until we left in the limo at 10:00 that night. I definitely know we made the right choice by booking them and would recommend them to anyone. I cant wait to see the final video, I know it will be incredible.
**Update**: We got our first copy of the edited video back after 6 weeks, originally we were told it would take 30 days but due to additional editing being needed on the audio it took longer. When we got it, while it was good, I was devestated because there were major events of the day that werent included in the final edited video (a special dance with my mom, our final dance of the night, and us leaving in the limo) and the audio quality on the parents dances were definitely not the best quality. I emailed him right away letting him know my disappointment and he happily agreed to add those things in and change the audio on the parents dances so all you heard was the song playing not all the background noise. Those changes took another two weeks, we figured the additional time was worth it to get exactly what we wanted (I will add that I dont think I should have had to ask for those things to be added in, I think they should have been added in to begin with as I definitely consider them major events of the day). We just got our "final" edited copy back yesterday, 8 weeks after the wedding (we almost had to wait even longer, I work in retail so my schedule is not very cohesive to meeting with people, so we set up to meet Sunday on my lunch hour and he emailed three days before saying he had to cancel because they booked a last minute wedding, after three emails and three phone calls over three days of me explaining that was absolutely unacceptable, since I was a paying client as well who had already waited 8 weeks for him to deliver something that was promised in half the time, he told me that the bride they booked had agreed to let him leave for an hour to meet me), and it is now perfect and definitely worth it. I cant wait to watch it every year on our anniversary. You cant beat their pricing and all that it includes (The final edited video in a silver engraved case, as many uncased copies as you like of the final edited video for friends and family, and a dvd of all of the unedited footage of the day). The only piece of advice I will give if you do choose to use them, make sure you are VERY clear with what major events from the day you would like included in the final dvd. Otherwise you will be left waiting while they add in the things they didnt think you would want included. And to remember that you get what you pay for!

When I first spoke with them, I was very happy with the services they offered and their pricing, they charged us $475.00 for an hour of pre ceremony and ceremony music, 4 hours of reception music, and travel, as they were about an hour and a half from our two sites. Which I still think is a great deal for the service they offered. They were great leading up to the wedding, they sent us very detailed lists so we could list out every song we wanted played and when we wanted it played for both the wedding ceremony and the reception. Then spoke with us on the phone about 2 weeks before the wedding confirming the songs again, confirming times, confirming exactly where we wanted them to set up at both locations. Then the morning of the wedding, when hubby arrived at the ceremony site, her husband starting talking to him about what prayers he was going to say during the ceremony, why he always says those 3 prayers, and hubby kindly explained to him that we already had an officiant, at first he was telling hubby that we agreed that he would do the ceremony, and hubby was like no we already have someone, I'm sorry you were confused but we only hired you to do the music for the ceremony, not the ceremony itself. Thankfully he finally accepted it when our officiant arrived. Then at the reception, we were getting ready to make our grand entrance and she asks me what order we want everyone introduced in and how to pronounce last names which we already went over on the final phone conversation. The third and final issue we had with them, we agreed to announce the last dance for guests at 9:50, with our last dance at 9:55 and then us leaving at 10:00, well apparently she had the time on her laptop set wrong and announced the last dance for guests at 9:20, and we looked at the clock and had to go correct her, really aggrivating. Thankfully not big things, but still things that just could have very easily been prevented especially stating that we talked about everything two weeks ahead of time! On a positive note, they did play each and every song we requested in the order we requested it, and transitioned between all of the ceremony songs seamlessly, which was crucial to me, as I had one song for the grandparents, parents and bridal party to walk in to, one song for my dad and I to walk in to, one to be played in the background the entire ceremony and then our recessional song. Each and every one flowed in to the next perfectly.
Chair and Tent Rental for Ceremony: JCM Party Rentals A+
They were amazing, I heard about them through weddingmapper.com, through another bride that used them for the same site we had our ceremony at. What made us book with them was that they could deliver them and set everything up at 10:00 the morning of the wedding for our ceremony at 12:30, and then come pick everything up at 1:45 that afternoon after we were done with family photos and in time for family to set up the reception venue for us. And more importantly that they didnt charge us an arm and a leg to do it. Anyone needing a tent and or chairs or even tables on a budget and especially on a tight timeline, I'd definitely recommend them.
Ceremony Venue: Bee Tree Park A+
This was definitely our best budget find, we only paid $100.00 for 5 hours of rental, including an additional 1 hour for set up and 1 hour of clean up after the ceremony. Its this absolutely breath taking mansion (unfortunately they no longer allow access into the mansion itself) with these beautiful gardens, which were perfectly in bloom thanks to alot of rain in the weeks before our wedding, so we saved a fortune on ceremony decorations, it has this beautiful fountain as the backdrop and overlooks the river. The only thing you need is chairs and a tent if you are worried about heat or rain, but you wont need any decorations if you are planning a spring or summer wedding. Anyone looking to do an outdoor wedding on a budget I would definitely recommend looking into this site. They do require you to talk to the park ranger prior to the ceremony, I originally thought you would have to meet with him in person, but upon calling the county I was given his phone number and after a few days of phone tag and a 10 minute conversation everything was confirmed. Easy as pie!
Reception Venue: Two Hearts Banquet Center B-
We booked them initially because of their amazing price, and I'm still very happy that we did in that regard. They only charged $26.50 per person for full meal (2 meats, 2 sides, and salad) and a full open bar, including all table linens, dishes, silverware, and ball room rental, which for our area for a Saturday night is amazing. Initially there was an issue with being told we could set up the day before and then being told we no longer could, thankfully that was resolved with taking off the $100.00 upcharge they normally charge for people bringing in their own chair covers (we purchased our own because they were half the price of renting them from the venue, unfortunately we did have to remind her that she agreed to waive the $100.00 fee on the day we went to make the final payment and confirm all the final details) and by letting us drop off and store all the decorations the day before, which really helped us out, so that way the family that graciously volunteered to decorate for us already had everything there that they needed and that the guys didnt have to stop on their way to the reception and drop everything off. The biggest issue we had is that when we entered the reception there wasnt champagne waiting for us, and it took them until after my dad and my maid of honor and half way through hubbys best mans speech to realize that no one had prepared champagne for us. We jokingly toasted with the salt and pepper shakers on the table until the champagne did arrive. Also they gave my pregnant bridesmaid a champagne toast when we confirmed with the manager a week before hand that she would have a sparkling grape juice toast instead. Nothing that ruined our night, we still had an amazing reception, but again things that I thought we had figured out and confirmed but apparently not. Overall I would still recommend them, just make sure you are very detailed and do all communication via email so you have records of everything that is communicated.
Limousine: JED Limousine A+
Originally we weren't going to do a limousine at all, our bridal party was small enough that we could take my parents mini van to our offsite photo location, and since we did a 12:30 ceremony and then a 6:00-10:00 pm reception, the overall cost was just more than we had to work with. Thats when we decided that we would splurge on having a limo just to take my new husband and I home from the reception, back to our house at the end of the night. After much looking we finally found a company, through a recommendation of our reception venue, that was willing to do only an hour of time on a saturday night and for only $125.00. We were so glad to found them. A limo ride was the perfect ending to a perfect day. Nothing beat the feeling of sitting in the back seat of the limo, listening to Frank Sinatra, snuggled up to my man, knowing he was my husband. The driver was there early, waiting outside the limo to open the door for the two of us, and congratulated us as we got in. The limo itself was perfectly clean and white and everything I imagined. I am SO glad we decided to splurge.
Dress: Davids Bridal Sunset Hills A
We got all of our bridal party dresses there from my gown to my bridesmaids to the flower girls to the two moms, all of the dresses came in earlier than originally planned and absolutely perfect. I was told originally that my dress would take 12 weeks, which was fine since I ordered it close to a year out, and two weeks later I was getting a call saying it was here. Thankfully my parents offered to store it for me so hubby would have no chance of seeing it before the big day. I loved the selection they had of dresses in the colors I picked, this was very crucial as my two bridesmaids and the two moms have very different body types, so the same dress looked totally different on both of them. Everyone we met with was very helpful at every appointment. The only thing I do wish is that their alterations were cheaper, but other than that we were very happy with all of the dresses and the service we recieved.
Alterations: Alterations by Tina B+
Her prices are absolutely astonishing, all I needed was the torso and bust taken in and bra cups added, the hem worked perfect with my shoes, at Davids Bridal, where I originally purchased my dress, they wanted over $100.00 to do those two things, she only charged me $40.00 and had it back to me in a week. There was a little hiccup when we went to pick it up the morning of the day she said it would be ready. We walked in, handed her the claim ticket and she was like "uh oh," it wasnt done. Thankfully she guaranteed us she would have it ready by 4:00 that afternoon, when I was scheduled for my lunch hour at work that day, my mom came and picked me up and we rushed up, tried the dress on and it fit perfectly and she was extremely apologetic about not having it ready that morning, and then had to rush back to work, if my mom hadnt stopped on the way to pick me up and gotten me food I wouldn't have had a chance to eat that afternoon. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for affordable, reliable alterations. The only bit of advice I have is that she doesnt work by appointments its on a first come first serve basis, so I highly recommend getting there right when they open so you dont have to wait.
Travel Agent: Go Away Travel: Robin Stamer A+
The same friend that referred me to my photographer also referred me to our travel agent. She was the one who initially suggested Jamaica to us for affordable but luxurious all inclusive caribbean travel. From there we did alot of research when it came to resorts ourselves, only because I wanted as much information from different sources as possible and didnt want to ask her to do all that for us. We looked up pricing on many different sites and she was willing to match anything we found, which was great, we got the best deal and yet still had a connection if we ever needed anything. She also made sure we were treated like celebrities from getting us the perfect ocean front room on the top floor so we had perfect panoramic views, to getting all the honeymoon perks like champagne and massages. She was incredible. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking to travel.
